The Astra Choir returns to the spacious acoustics of Northcote Town Hall, with a varied choral-instrumental landscape extending around Franz Liszt’s profound and theatrical Esztergom Mass. Works of Tallis, Schoenberg, Wolpe, Donald Martino, Will Ogdon and Andrew Byrne are juxtaposed, and the concert marks the 250th anniversary of Friedrich Schiller with Brahms’s late setting of the poem ‘Nenia’ ...
