This project centres on Rational Melodies by American experimental‑minimalist composer Tom Johnson, arranged by Andrew Byrne for a mix of ancient and modern keyboards, plucked instruments and percussion. The work is paired with new and existing responses by leading Australian composers, extending Johnson’s rational and process‑driven ideas into diverse contemporary contexts.
